downtown art night

The Else Madsen Gallery opened on October 6, 2004, located in an intimate space in downtown Austin Texas. Dedicated to unknown artist Else Madsen who showed little during her lifetime yet created many hundreds of paintings and other works of art throughout her life. The Else Madsen Gallery is devoted to helping young emerging contemporary artists, locally and otherwise be recognized here and throughout the world.

Nestled on the four hundred block of Brazos street, this 1,200 square foot exhibition space edges three other exceptional galleries including 4 Walls Fine Art, Studio 107 and the Volitant Gallery, Else Madsen Gallery enjoys the bustling excitement of downtown life and offers an alternative to conventional white box gallery where one can view work in a “furnished” domestic environment.
